I remember receiving this product and giggling to myself from sheer skepticism. I even told my husband, “It’s basically water in a can. What on earth could possibly be so great about this product?”
The claims on the website included that the product would soothe skin irritations and itches, help with makeup removal, after hair removal to soothe the area, sooth razor burns and help with nappy rashes, facial redness and damaged skin like a scrapped knee. It also suggests uses such as using it as a refreshing mist after a workout, while travelling or a surgery, among other uses.
Needless to say, I was very, very wrong.
This product definitely does all it promises. After about two uses I was in love with the cool, hydrating sensation it left on my skin. I used it every night before bed and even convinced my husband to let me spray his face. It felt like a brilliant injection of hydration not to mention the soothing effect it had on my skin after a long day with makeup on. I also found my skin clearing up and feeling soft and supple as I continued to use the product.
My husband particularly enjoyed it when he got sick with a fever. It was definitely easier than the old dripping face cloth on the forehead and the effects lasted much longer. I enjoyed spraying it on any eczema flare ups that I had as it stopped the itch and allowed the area to cool down.
Eau Thermale Avêne is such a versatile product that I could not resist putting it in the spotlight this month.
Until the next post,
