A long week of back and forth between wedding planning and work seemed to drag on and by mid-week I was begging for a break from the tedious routine. My mind and body yearned for a break in this rather boring looking week. Needless to say that when a mysterious box addressed to me appeared at the office I could not contain my excitement.

Given I should have been expecting it, but somehow in the constant chaos of this week the excitement had been squished and my mind had become preoccupied with work related issues instead. So in typical five year old fashion, the box landed in my lap and I immediately ripped into the packaging.

And out came some very alluring gems. The rather gorgeous Labello Blackberry Shine (launched on the 04/11/16 in South Africa) was sitting in my lap staring up at me. Having always loved Labello lip balms containing myself was a struggle. In my excitement, I popped it out of the cute packaging, sniffed the heavenly scent and then swatched it on the inside of my wrist. If I had no makeup on I’d have trialed it immediately.

Instead, I held myself together and waited until I could give it a fair trial. One week later and I can honestly say that I have discovered my new summer holy grail. The scent takes me straight to summer nights spent lazing around and munching on fresh fruits. While the creamy (non sticky, much to my relief) formula is soft and smooth leaving my lips feeling supple and moisturized but that is not the best part of this Lip Balm. My favorite part is the hint of a deeper and darker colour that instantly brings life to an every day makeup look. With a subtle shine to add just the right amount of glamour, this tiny tube packs quite a punch.

Subtle but enough to finish an every day makeup look this summer

Looks gorgeous in direct sunlight too

It’s bolder than a boring gloss and more intriguing than a simple red.

It’s quick to apply and feels like you’re spoiling yourself. Let’s not forget it looks pretty and fits easily into the front pocket of your jeans meaning you can make sure your makeup is flawless without being half an hour late for work.

Popping on a touch of bold,

Brokebella
