To be perfectly honest if you  told me two years ago that the Internet would be broken I’d have thought you smoked something you  shouldn’t have.

But then Kim K happened and now THE DRESS. Is it blue and black or white and gold.
“I see blue and black”
“No wait I see grey and purple .”
” No it’s definitely blue and black.”
“HOW? I see white and gold”

Everyone is convinced that what they see is correct. Entire forums are devoted to discussing theories on why the dress appears different to each person. Everything from the white balance of the photo being off to your  eyes being adjusted differently and even your mood has been stated.

And yes, curiosity certainly plays a large part. We all want to know why we are seeing it differently from our friends. So in  the hopes of proving to ourselves that what we see is right, we find ourselves discarding any reservations we would normally have and openly waltz up  to complete strangers and demand to know what they see. Friends are yelling at each other across cafeterias and entire lecture rooms of students were distracted by the image on  their phones.

Minds were boggled.

And somehow no one can give me a definite answer. Is it blue and black or white and gold?

And does it really matter what colour the dress is? Can’t we just say it looks good or it looks bad and move on?
Can’t we just let it go already?
